Choosing your show fabric
Not all of our furnishing fabrics are wide enough to make a 150cm roller blind, but our range of linen look fabric is a wide fabric, as well as any fabrics marked as 'extra wide' in the fabric filters. A plain fabric used sideways will also work, if your finished drop is less than the width of the fabric - usually 138-140cm.What's in the kit?
If you plan to cut this kit down to make a narrower blind, you will have a much wider choice of fabric - but please check the useable width before you buy! You will just need to buy enough fabric for the length of the blind. This kit contains all of the components needed to make a roller blind at home of up to 150cm wide and 175cm drop, including:- Roller blind backing fabric 175cm x 160cm
- Roller blind top tube
- Roller blind mechanism with white endless chain
- Bottom bar
- All the fittings and fastenings
What else will I need?
Because the kit comes complete with our iron on roller blind backing, you only need to add your choice of show fabric from our huge range of curtain fabrics to make your bespoke blind. The roller blind components can be cut down using household tools to make a blind which is narrower than 150cm; you can also cut down the roller blind backing to make a shorter blind to fit your window exactly. To make your roller blind you will need:- a hacksaw
- a screwdriver
- a straight edge
- a tape or ruler
- sharp scissors or a cutting wheel
