This fabric is ideal for making clothes and craft projects. The material features quaint folksy looking houses. The cloth is 100% cotton, ideal for quilting. The fabric is available in the two colourways shown. This material may also appeal to children.
This is a fun craft fabric featuring rows of cups and plates in soft pastel colours on a cream background. Suitable for many craft uses including patchwork and quilting. There are many different cups and plates featured and you could also make a lovely lightweight kitchen curtain. Please note the narrower width than standard curtain fabrics.
We really loved this bright and cheerful owl fabric, which also has flowers in the same combination of colours as the owls. This is a good weight craft cotton and could also be used to make lightweight curtains if you line them, as well as bags, quilts and other uses.

It was 3 years on the 1st October 2013 since Tom & Meg took over Livingstone Textiles! Where has the time gone?
During this time all staff have had a say in the fabrics we stock. We have all enjoyed selecting such a wide range of fabrics – from patchwork, dress materials, upholstery fabric and curtaining, we try to supply a wide range of materials that will appeal to our customers.
We also have a wide range of haberdashery and upholstery supplies and we are always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas.
We offer a range of sewing classes that give people the confidence to use and understand their own sewing machines.
During the 3 years we have developed our website and also have opened our Ebay shop. Recently we have opened our very own webshop to enable people to buy fabric direct from our website.
Are you wondering where you can buy fabric online?
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new webshop. For many years we have sent out fabrics by mail order and in recent years we have been using Ebay as well as having our shop in Bridport, Dorset.
Anne Orchard has been working extremely hard to get our webshop up and running and it is now possible to buy fabrics directly from our website. Currently not all of our fabrics are listed but in time we shall be adding more and more and this will soon also include haberdashery supplies, clothing fabrics, upholstery fabrics, curtain linings and other materials.
We hope you enjoy looking at our website and webshop.
This is one of our most popular fabrics – a lovely heavy cotton with a soft feel, which makes up brilliantly for roman blinds, curtains, cushions and light upholstery such as bench seats or dining chairs. Each fabric has a range of subtle colours which tone beautifully to give a great overall effect whichever colour you choose. Our latest colourway, Pink & Green, is shown in the picture to the right and the other colourways below.
Our skilled makers can transform your home with high quality made to measure soft furnishings. Curtains, roman blinds and cushions are all made to your specification and to our exacting standards, fully bespoke and hand-finished.
Come and view our fabrics and discuss your requirements in store; we understand that you will be making an important decision about your home, so any of our staff will be happy to work with you until you’re completely happy with your order – our customer service is second to none.
To help you make up your mind, we offer free samples of all our rollstock and also the option to borrow our books and hangers so that you can see the fabrics in your own home before you choose. We can work to your measurements, or alternatively one of our makers can come out to your home to measure up and help you with the process.
Curtain making prices are quoted per width of fabric in each curtain. So for a pair of curtains made with one width of fabric in each curtain you would pay for 2 widths of making. For a pair with 1.5 widths in each curtain you would pay 4 widths of making. Current maker’s prices are shown below; these don’t include fabric or other materials. These prices include VAT, which is charged on mail orders. For curtains collected from our shops in Bridport, Dorset and Yeovil, Somerset you may pay the seamstress directly, and VAT is not then incurred.

If you have a roller blind which needs replacing but your fixings are still perfectly ok, or if you want a roller blind to match other window dressings in your room such as curtains, you need a specially treated roller blind fabric. You can buy ready stiffened fabrics, but this limits your choice. Or you can buy a spray on stiffener, but these can be tricky to get right. The best solution we have found is an iron-on roller blind fabric stiffener. Using this stiffener you can turn most fabric into replacement roller blind fabric so long as it can take a hot iron and is not too thick to roll up once it is stiffened. In this way you are able to have your roller blind in a matching or co-ordinating fabric to curtains in the same or a nearby room and you broaden your choice of fabrics.
We offer this roller blind backing fabric to create fabric for roller blinds from any of our suitable fabrics either in stock or to order from our extensive range of hangers. Please contact us with your blind measurements for a quote or call in to the shop to browse our range of fabrics.
This treatment is also suitable for creating large fabric banners – these were made for the window display at our local Oxfam shop and are eight feet long! The fabric is stiffened and then sewn so that it can be hung on a pole in the shop window, and weighted with a metal pole in the base.
If you want to measure for curtains, this involves taking two measurements on your window – the width and the drop. You will get the most accurate measurements if your pole or track is already fitted and you measure with it in place. Continue reading How to Measure for Curtains and Drapes
Measuring for net curtains involves taking two measurements on your window. If you already have a net curtain wire or net curtain rod in place measure the drop from the wire or rod to where you want the curtain to end. If not, then measure from the top of the frame (not the glass), inside the window reveal. For the width measure the width of the existing wire or net curtain rod, or the frame if none is currently fitted. Continue reading How to Measure for Net Curtains
