We know that during lockdown many of you have been using your sewing machines rather more than usual. Whether that is for sewing scrubs for a local volunteer effort, making masks for family and neighbours or just getting on with some of your own projects, it all takes a toll on your machine.
The best present you can give your sewing machine is to get it a service! So we have booked in our engineer to visit on Friday 29th May 2020, which will go ahead so long as we have enough machines for him to travel to us. The shops will still be closed on this date but if you drop off your sewing machine to us before then it will be serviced and ready to collect when we reopen, on 1st June if government guidelines allow.
If your machine has seized up or you are having trouble with the tension, small repairs are covered within the standard £59.50 charge. If parts or more work are needed the cost will be agreed with you and the machine may get taken back to the engineer’s workshop and returned on his next visit.
In all cases there is a £10 non-returnable deposit taken when you drop off the machine (by contactless card payment, please) and the remainder payable on collection.
If you would like to book your machine in for service or repair on Friday 29th May, please phone Tom on 07792 283739 to arrange when you can drop it off at our Bridport store. We are on reduced staff so this needs to be by appointment at the moment. Normally we would be able to bring machines down for you from Yeovil but unfortunately we can’t at the moment, so you will need to bring it to us yourself. We should, however, be able to return machines to Yeovil for collection after we reopen.
We also have reopened our webshop so you can collect goods from Bridport, too. We are really looking forward to seeing you all soon.
