Reopening Plans after Lockdown

We are all really looking forward to giving you the opportunity to browse in our shops in person in the near future, so we wanted to update you on our latest plans. These may have to alter as further guidance comes out from the government, but here are our first drafts of how things will work.

Provided the government moves to Step 2 on 1st June, we will aim to reopen to the public at the earliest on Tuesday 2nd June. UPDATE – Expected date is now Tuesday 16th June due to government guidance. This applies to both stores – Bridport and Yeovil.

We will be operating with reduced staff and reduced opening hours. Initially we will reopen to the public from 10am to 4pm, but closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm. It will be possible to book an appointment between 9am and 10am, this is intended mainly for customers wanting to order curtains who need longer to browse and look at samples without holding up other customers.

There will be a limited number of customers in the shop at one time, so you may have to wait outside. Please observe 2 metre distancing when queueing. We will let customers into the shop when we have capacity. Please ring or knock to let us know you are outside the door, but please do not come in until either someone leaves the shop or we let you know we have room for you. We encourage you to come with a maximum of one other person from your household.

We will be operating a one-way system and a series of zones at both stores. Please keep the members of your household in the same zone, and observe social distancing within the store.

We may not be able to answer the phone whilst the shop is open. Please leave a message if we do not answer and we will pick these up outside opening times. Pleae bear with us if there is a delay responding to your query.

We hope you understand that there is going to be a lot of pressure on both staff and customers due to these new ways of working, and ask that everyone shows patience, tolerance and kindness. We are eager to be able to help you again, and will let you know more guidelines as we get closer to our reopening.

In the meantime, you can already order from our webshop or phone us to request to collect an item from Bridort. See you all soon.

    1. Hi, Please note that the government has put back the reopening of non-essential shops to 15th June at the earliest. We will soon make a decision whether we need the 15th for staff training and will not reopen until the 16th. We will be reopening both shops at the same time. We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.
