How to Make a Simple Pencil Pleat Curtain

In this course you will make a small sample of a pencil pleat curtain. The course will show you the techniques used when making a curtain using pencil pleat heading tape, giving you the confidence to make your own curtains when you get home.

For this course you will need to bring the following items with you.

  • Sewing machine in full working order with its instruction manual and all of its sewing machine feet.

  • A basic sewing kit to include dressmaking scissors, unpicker, bright coloured polycotton thread, pins, spare sewing machine needles, hand sewing needles, tailors chalk.

  • Notepad and pen to make notes.

  • A ruler

  • 1 metre curtain fabric

  • 1 metre curtain lining

  • 1.5 metre of pencil pleat 3 inch heading tape
