Miss Haversham Celebrates London 2012 Olympics

We’re all on tenterhooks here for the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games, so Helen decided our tailors dummy, fondly known as Miss Haversham, should be dressed for the occasion. We’re especially pleased with her brooch shaped like the Olympic Torch.
We are quite close to the Olympic sailing venue at Weymouth and Portland, so we might even have some visitors coming to the area as a result.
All of us at Livingstone Textiles would like to wish every success to Team GB in every sport, and some of us will be going to cheer on the team at the Olympics and Paralympics.
Here’s a random fact for you – the Olympic basketball Arena is a temporary structure made of steel wrapped in 20,000 square metres of white waterproof fabric. Our average roll of fabric would contain around 45 square metres, so that’s equivalent to over 400 rolls of fabric!
Enjoy the opening ceremony tonight and let’s hope the sun shines for the next few weeks!
