Hello and welcome to our first newsletter of 2012 – how did it get to be May already?
Of course, like you, we’ve been busy here at Livingstone Textiles, so I thought I would update you on some of the things we have been working on to make our business work better for you.
First of all, I’m pleased to report that after a very long process it looks like we have approval from the listed building officer for installation of a stair lift on the front stairs. This will be available for public use once it is fitted, which we hope will make access easier. There will still be around 4 stairs to negotiate at the top of the stairlift, but we hope it will go some way to helping our customers get up to the first floor.
Secondly, we’ve been expanding our offering of craft fabrics as you can see here. We also have a good range of plain cottons and also wadding for quilting. This is a new area for us, so we’re always pleased to hear what you might be looking for to help us develop in the future.
Last, but not least, we’re making progress on our plan to start holding classes and workshops. This picture is of the table in what will become our teaching area. As you can see the industrial nature of the building is ever-present, but we’re hoping to make this into a welcoming space none-the-less. Attendees will all be able to sit around the large table, giving a friendly atmosphere. We’re planning both weekly general classes and weekend workshops on specific topics such as ‘Learn to Love your Sewing Machine’, so do get in touch if you might be interested.
For our customers who are further away, please remember that we are always happy to send out samples, so if there is something particular you are after do give us a ring or drop us an email and we will do our best to help.
