With just over a week to go until Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, plans are well under way for all kinds of street parties and other events. We stock all kind of fabrics for decorating anything from a table to a church. And today I’m concentrating on decorating yourself!
Here are a couple of last minute ideas – first we have our model Miss Haversham wearing a simple but stunning attire made from one of the large flags already featured on this site. To make a complete large caftan you would need 2 flags at £7.75 each, or you could put a plain fabric on the back, or even wrap the flag around, cut some armholes and sew it together at the back if you’re on the slim side.
Another option is this amazing Union Jack beret made by one of our customers from the strip of 3 cotton flags costing only £3. She very kindly wrote out the basic instructions for us, so do ask if you’d like a copy. It only takes a short time to put together this stunning hat which will surely stand out from the crowd.
Whatever you do on the Jubilee, we hope you have a great time, and please remember that Livingstone Textiles will be closed for both the bank holidays, reopening on Wednesday 6th June.
