Fabric Trade Fair Fun

Fabric heaven

Well, we shopped till we dropped! Our first fabric trade fair visit was quite an experience, and there were plenty of stands to catch our imagination. We were particularly taken with the dress fabrics and look forward to seeing the wares in more detail back at home base. We also picked up some new haberdashery, including some fantastic gingham ribbon – more of that later.

Of particular interest to Anne and Maxine were the many knitting yarn exhibitors. We moved a step closer to our aim to begin supplying yarn to the knitters of Bridport.

Another new item which our customers have been asking for is natural cotton wadding for quilting and curtains. It is easier to stitch than the polyester wadding as it ‘clings’ to the fabric and is less likely to slip. We were able to come home with this stylish ‘baked potato bag’ for use in the microwave, made using the wadding, which we will be testing out at lunchtimes. We will let you know when natural wadding is available in the shop.
